What was life like in the north? |
The Second Great Awakening holds high in things that were not good for the Natives at the time. This awakening led to the religious transformation of many people in the states and as it is known, they always tried to push their way of living onto the Natives. The Natives have / had their own way of spiritual beliefs and these were not respected by the Christians at the time. The Native way of living, economy, government, land, and land were changing very rapidly during this time. In part due to the Indian Removal Act that was implemented just before this time.
This time period is also known as the Antebellum Period. The Antebellum Period is the Period right before the Civil War. |
