What was the Cuban Missile Crisis? |
The Cuban Missile Crisis was a high intensity time with the wagering of nuclear war at any moment. The Soviet Union has relocated its nuclear missiles in Cuba and this made the United States extremely uncomfortable. In Cuba, at the time, Fidel Castro had just taken power of Cuba. Cuba then became a communist country and this too made the United States uncomfortable. The United States decides to try to blockade the Cuban ports but this only resulted in failure.
Due to the new control of Fidel Castro, many people tried fleeing Cuba and thus led to the immigration of Cubans to the United States. The Cubans migrated to Florida, a state relatively close to where Cuba is located. The end end of the Cuban Missile Crisis was a great relief for the citizens of the United States and provided many lessons for the United States. |
